So, Carlos Beltran has signed with the St. Louis Cardinals and it inspired me to invent a new metric: The Beltran Curve. Simply, it weighs a player's effectiveness against the amount of time lost due to injury over his career. I have no idea how to calculate it, but it could apply to such players as Jose Reyes, Alex Rodriguez and Jason Bay just to name a few.
OK Sabermetricians, calculate away!

Probably this is related to some sort of "Havlat Venn Diagram" in the NHL.
